I greatly value the support of my readers, so as requested, here is the method I have been using. It has proven successful a number of times. For optimal success, follow the method exactly. It is designed so that the child will fully comprehend each letter and its sound before moving on to reading. This will help the child progress into and master reading much easier. Skipping steps or goals may hinder the process.

Teaching your child the letters of the alphabet can be a real joy for you as well as your child. It will be the foundation for your child's education. A child must know the letters in order to read. In order to do most other lessons, a child must be able to read properly. When students struggle in school, many times it will be traced back to their reading skills. If a child has never learned appropriate reading skills, failure is inevitable.

If you see this post 8/28/2010, please consider sponsoring today's posts on this blog for your own determined amount. Parents, of preschool children with disabilities, need to understand how to support their child's use of communication technologies around the house. There are many types of technology that can be used in the home of a special needs preschooler. The technology to do this is called augmentative communication and there is a broad range of these devices available. It is important for parents to know that some are more appropriate than others for use at home.

Click here to continue reading this article

Two Fun Products for Teaching Kids to Read

http://www.parentsuccessfully.com/5/post/2010/01/two-fun-products-for-teaching-kids-to-read.html

http://www.parentsuccessfully.com/5/post/2010/01/two-fun-products-for-teaching-kids-to-read.html#comments

Uncategorized

Teaching kids to read is a rewarding challenge that all parents have to face. This fun spelling game and easel can help make reading time more enjoyable, as well as more productive.

The spelling puzzle featured above can be used in a variety of ways. Kids can have fun simply putting together the puzzle. For added benefit, parents can ask them to sound out the words during the process. The alphabet letters can also be used separately from the puzzles to form more words. Using the letters and puzzles in various ways helps ensure that the child is learning the lesson and not just memorizing the words based on pictures.

The easel can be used to spell out words with magnetic letters. This is similar to the concept of using the puzzle letters without the puzzle. However, because it is a different way of doing it, kids might get excited when switching to this activity. Also try writing the letters and words on the wipe off board or on the art paper and playing sound and word games. This is some added variety in learning letters, sounds, and words.

Combining these two products adds more flexibility and variety. However, they also can be used separately as well.

~ Written by Lyn Lomasi ~

* Disclosure Notice: The author may receive compensation from the products or company listed above.
